Is there anything like a romantic vacation getaway for two to help a couple recharge their batteries, enjoy some privacy, and reconnect as a couple?  A family vacation just isn’t the same as that “alone time” you have when you go away alone as a couple and turn off the cell phones, computers, and television and just enjoy each other’s company.  Unfortunately though these trips don’t always work out the way many couples imagined, so what can you do to make sure your romantic vacation getaway is successful and restful?

Communication beforehand is one key to success.  What are you expectations as to where you want to go and what you want to do?  One person may imagine a big city with bright lights and nightlife, whereas another may want to get some rest while secluded in nature.  Your romantic vacation getaway for two is just that - for the both of you, not just one!

There needs to be some compromises made; you can rent a cabin or cottage that’s on the outskirts of a city and spend one day in the city and one day at the cabin, or give yourself a curfew for being in the city so that you’re back at the cabin in the evening.  Finding these types of compromises for your accommodations for your romantic vacation getaway for two is going to ensure that both are happy rather than thinking the vacation needs to revolve around only one person.

Getting yourself in the right frame of mind is also important when it comes to a romantic vacation getaway for two.  It’s very important to do whatever you need to do so that you can leave your emails, voice mails, and other messages alone while you’re away.  If your romantic vacation getaway is a full week or several days, you may want to check in but be sure to set limits on this.

Be sure to check messages only once per day or every other day and give yourself only a set amount of time in which you can reply and even think about those messages!  Resist the temptation to get involved with problems you left at the office or to call up that friend or family member that left a message, knowing this will result in a lengthy phone conversation.

Nothing ruins a romantic vacation getaway like bringing problems and concerns with you!  Those things will be there waiting when you get back, so limit yourself when it comes to outside communication to only what is absolutely necessary.

Remember to relax during your romantic vacation getaway.  You may want to take in all the sights and sounds and activities available while you’re away, but rushing around from place to place is no way to get ready for romance.  Take time to just sit and be quiet during your romantic vacation getaway; listen to music, have some conversation, and just enjoy your time together without noise and distraction.
