Is there anything better for a couple to recharge their batteries and reconnect with one another than romantic hotel getaways? Actually, any time away from friends, family, work, and other responsibilities is probably very enjoyable but when you stay in a hotel you get the added benefit of maid service and room service as well! Of course most hotels also offer other luxuries such as indoor pools and saunas, both of which can really add to the romance.
But before any couple just takes off for any type of romantic hotel getaways, there are some things to consider and to plan for first.
As an example, remember that it is possible to get cabin fever when you’re in a hotel room for an entire weekend or week. Even the most romantic hotel getaways should have other activities planned to get you both out of the room at some point. What is there nearby or right in the hotel that you can try? A long soak in the sauna would be nice, as would a dip in the pool.
This means packing your bathing suit! Do some research before heading off to any romantic hotel getaways to see what restaurants are nearby, as well as any museums or other attractions there are where you might want to do some sightseeing or shopping. It’s easy to think that you’ll spend the entire time in your room but it’s good to be prepared to get outside for at least a few hours just in case!
While room service is nice when enjoying romantic hotel getaways, remember the cost. You might be better off packing at least some treats for the two of you. Gourmet chocolates, a favorite bottle of wine, and some fresh fruit can go a long way toward getting you both in the mood for romance. If you don’t have a kitchen in your hotel room then of course you won’t be cooking but you can still pack a few nice treats so that you don’t need to order them from the hotel for an added charge.
Visit the bakery or supermarket the same day you leave or the day before any of your romantic hotel getaways so you know everything will be fresh and you won’t be tempted to indulge before your trip!
You might also need to plan for romance when considering romantic hotel getaways. It’s easy to think that everything will happen spontaneously but this just isn’t always the case. Bring some nice massage oils and get yourself ready before you go - get a haircut, trim your nails, and do whatever else you need to do in order to feel attractive and ready for romance.
We’re talking to you men here too! Thinking that romantic hotel getaways will guarantee romance is a surefire recipe for disaster. Turn off your cell phones, refuse to check your email, and check in on the kids only once per day so that you don’t allow anything to interfere with your time together.
