Romantic Cabin Getaways Are All The Rage

When you were a kid, did your family stay at a cabin every summer so that you could all go fishing and swimming and hiking?  Many families in the U.S. take vacations this way as the kids can be active and things are usually very budget-friendly.  Which is why some people might shy away from the idea of a romantic cabin getaway.

To them, a cabin is a dusty and dirty retreat that smells like fish and raw bait and that’s appropriate for families, not romance!  But today many couples are finding that a romantic cabin getaway is actually perfect for them, considering the many changes that have been made in the tourism industry when it comes to cabins and lodges in the past few years.

Many who own lakeside retreats know that couples appreciate a romantic cabin getaway because it offers some seclusion and privacy.  Cabins are not like hotels where you have someone in the next room and where your balcony overlooks a parking lot - if you’re lucky enough to get a balcony at all!  A romantic cabin getaway can mean beautiful sunsets and sunrises, hiking trails, horseback riding, and bonfires at night.

But of course these things won’t make up for a dirty or smelly cabin, and resort owners know this.  Most places that advertise their location as being perfect for a romantic cabin getaway have cabins that are spotlessly clean and that offer all the modern-day amenities you could imagine.  Since they’re geared toward couples rather than families, you’re less likely to find that they’ve been used for fishing!

They may even include a huge stone fireplace and private hot tub.  Larger resorts even offer the equivalent of room service if they have a kitchen and dining area on site.

A romantic cabin getaway can be very budget friendly.  If the cabin has a kitchen you can prepare at least some of your own meals to save money on eating out.  Most are less expensive than tropical resorts and luxury hotels.  And of course hiking and biking and swimming is less expensive than admissions to area attractions.

Some resorts even organize hay rides, square dances, and outdoor barbecues or cookouts for their guests which can help get you out of the cabin when you’re ready for some fresh air.  The money you can save is yet another reason to consider a romantic cabin getaway when it’s time to take that much needed break.

If you’re considering a romantic cabin getaway you can probably find something near you.  Not all cabins are located near large lakes or typical resort area. A local internet search will probably yield a lot of results; just be sure to check the accommodations and make sure they’re what you’re looking for.

Remember to pack appropriately for your romantic cabin getaway; make sure you have the right shoes for hiking, some comfortable jackets or sweaters, and pack the bug spray right along with the massage oils!
